As we get older, it seems that each birthday is that much less exciting than the last (except maybe 21—a lot of us go all-in on that one), but it doesn’t have to be that way! No matter how old you’re turning, there’s something special about dedicating one day a year to celebrating with friends, food and—of course—a few cocktails. Since decorating for a birthday party for a person over the age of 10 can be confusing,we’ve gathered some of our favorite ideas from Pinterest that’ll help you with every aspect of your bash from decor to food to drinks. All chic, all very grown-up.
This birthday party idea is particularly lovely for a family dinner. A few weeks before the big birthday, take a large scrapbook apart. Remove the heavy pages and send one to each member of your extended family and other important people in your child’s life. Ask them to share their best life advice and any photos they’d like to include for the newest adult member of the family. Present the bound scrapbook at the birthday dinner and read the pages aloud. Afterward, bring on the frosting swirls, ice cream and, of course, the gifts. Don't forget the gifts!
You can decide to prepare your cake on your own, or order it at a pastry shop, only make sure you select a shape which goes with the magnificent scenery. For many this Christmas won't be easy. So, you can begin to consider the you wish to see and purchase some items which can be utilised as the decorations of the venue. So, not merely are the event decorations creative, but in addition the names they give them! A centerpiece made from fruit platter will be an ideal addition. It is possible to also add a fine chandelier if you want. Or you can set a little Candle inside!
Flower Petal Hop Children hop from one flower petal to the next while music plays then they have to stop and find a petal to stand on when then music stops. Cut large flower petals out of poster board or felt - they should be large enough for 2 children to stand on. Use as many flower petals as there are guests playing the game. Put the petals around the floor. Tell birthday guests that they are going to pretend to be bugs and when the music plays they must hop or fly around the room, but when the music stops they must find a petal to land on. If you want to give out a small prize before the party write down a different number on the bottom of all of the flower petals. Buy small prizes or toys and assign them a number that matches the numbers on the bottom of the flower petals. At the final round of the game tell guests to pick up the petal they are standing on and they win the prize that matches the number on their petal.
Have you got another kid birthday party coming up? It’s probably one of the most special days for your child. And, as parents, we want to give it our best. But how?! Where do we even begin? How do we throw a birthday party that’s so special without having to throw away so much money?! And if we don’t pay for entertainer or a special venue, how will we entertain the kids without losing our minds? How will we decorate? What will they eat? All these questions and so many more immediately spring up.
